Excelsior is located on Mill Point Road, South Perth, and provides residents with uninterrupted views of the Swan River and Perth City.
The building is a 13 storey development, consisting of a penthouse and 9 apartments with each apartment occupying an entire level. Two floors of the building are devoted to amenities, including a swimming pool, spa, gymnasium, barbecue and alfresco area, with a designer-finished visitors’ lounge. The floor plan incorporates natural light, accentuates space and affords functional use of balconies, which are designed to capture uninterrupted views of the natural surroundings.
The primary construction method consists of tilt up panels, structural steel roofing with colourbond roof cover. Concrete precast panels are used with in- situ concrete slabs and core walls.
Innovative construction methods were used to implement the complex architectural design of the building. Curved balustrades accentuated the unique wave-like balconies on the north and south sides of the structure. Customised concrete panels were designed and fabricated for the intricate design of the building. The panels included mechanical penetrations, window and door openings, made to a high grade external finish. The curved edge building design meant that erecting the panels was an exercise in precision.
